WATER ABSORPTION BY WEIGHTThe percentage of water absorption into stone by weight is determined by the ratio of the weight of absorbed water and the stone weight. Values in brackets are less reliable because of small amount of data available or estimation done according to similar stones. Absorbency has a correlation with staining & is this a factor for selection for countertop & other application.
OTHER NAMES AND VARIETIES
In the column, less used or less suitable names and varieties are mentioned. In many cases the word order is wrongly reversed while some are incorrect because of wrong spelling or have been mistaken for another stone.
